Behavioral Testing

Test how people react —
before you launch.

We don't ask chatbots for an opinion. We construct and validate psychological roles — the audiences you can't easily reach, or can't ethically test on — and run the studies that surface confusion, distrust, resistance and risk, so you can fix the mismatch before it goes live.

How it works The premise

The people who matter are
the hardest to test on.

High-stakes communication fails with the audiences you can least afford to get wrong — and those are exactly the people a real study can't reach in time, or shouldn't reach at all.

So we build them. Validated synthetic audiences you can interview, message-test, and stress-test — before a single real person sees what you launch.

01
Too sensitive
Women trying to conceive, grieving customers, people in crisis. You can't easily recruit them — and putting an untested message in front of them is a risk in itself.
02
Too hard to reach
Expert buying committees, clinicians, niche professionals. Months of recruiting and scheduling for a handful of conversations that may not even be representative.
03
Too risky
You can't ethically expose vulnerable people to a product that hasn't been tested yet. Simulated users take the first hit, so real ones never have to.
Projects Selected work

Example projects
we've done.

Research
A redesign built on synthetic research
Synthetic analysts ran in-depth interviews with synthetic customers, built a customer journey map from the transcripts, and turned it into a full website redesign — a complete research apparatus, not just respondents.
Strategy
Campaign strategy for a sensitive population
A women's-health context where the target audience is hard to recruit and easy to get wrong. We simulated the population, tested the messaging, and shaped a campaign strategy before anything reached real people.
Safety
Stress-testing a mental-health product
A mental-health product that can't ethically be tested on real at-risk users. We sent simulated at-risk users to push it to its edges and surfaced where it failed — before any vulnerable person met it.
Scope What can be tested

What can be
tested.

We simulate the people who matter, run the tasks that reveal misunderstanding, distrust, resistance, misuse, or poor collaboration, and help fix the mismatch before launch.

The same apparatus applies across communication, digital products, AI systems and the points where people and machines meet.

Method Validation · Measurement

Built on experimental psychology,
not prompt engineering.

We don't generate personas by writing longer system prompts. We separate creation, simulation, and evaluation across independent models — eliminating preference leakage. We validate against national survey data. We run hundreds of iterations per condition and analyze distributions, not cherry-picked outputs.

Our finding: newer, more capable models are often more sensitive to minor perturbations. A name change shifts scores. A formatting tweak alters reasoning. Single-shot evaluation hides this. We don't do single-shot evaluation.

Engagement How to work with us

Two ways to
work with us.

01
We run the study
Bring your messaging or your system. We design and run the simulation — interviews, panels, stress tests — and deliver a findings report: what breaks, and how to fix it.
02
Recurring testing
Connect repeatable testing workflows to your process. Send new material when it is ready and receive structured findings in the same format every time. Built on Impersonato Cognitive Runtime.

Observatory Public · Live

75 annotated trajectories where
LLMs failed vulnerable users.

A public window into our annotation depth. Turn-by-turn, model-by-model, the Vulnerable Trajectory Observatory tracks where commercial AI systems lose the plot — so the industry can stop pretending the problem is somewhere else.
